Pastor Perry D. Smith was born and raised in the small town of Wichta Falls, Tx. At the young age of 12 he gave his life to Christ and hit the ground running. He began to serve in his grandfather's church by singing in the youth and adult choir, playing the piano, giving devotional speeches, teaching sunday school, and serving in his community. By age 21 he founded a gospel choir called I.C.E. (In Christ's Eyes) that was made up of a collection of youth and young adults throughout the city of Wichita Falls. By age 22, Pastor Smith married Charity Young and in their 14 years of marriage they have been blessed with six children 5 girls and 1 boy. By age 24, he was called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ where he served under the tutelage of his grandfather the late Pastor Leo D. Smith of Morning Star Baptist Church and later under his father Perry Smith the pastor of MSBC and Pastor David Youngblood of Unity Church. Pastor Smith has been in the ministry for 11 years and is still on fire for God's purpose and plan. Pastor Smith had a desire to become a pastor and now he is the proud pastor of the Church of Purpose.
